About Us

About Us

We, Cornel and John, play the strategy game called “Go” in Japan, called Baduk in Korea and called Weiqi in China and we want to share the joy of the game with you as our puzzles use the same rules as these games.

I am Cornel from Baia Mare, Romania and I am John from Minneapolis, Minnesota USA which goes to show how friends from opposite ends of the Earth can work together for the common good or as we call the common fun

We consider this to be your website as well as ours. In the future, we will show you how to make your own puzzles with perhaps a loved one’s name, a place with the memories or time with the same which can also be shared here. A puzzle makes a thoughtful gift and they really look good on a window sill with sunlight streaming through them.

How to Seize

  1. To begin to SEIZE the “X” marked stone or Group of stones click on the black/white stone Icon highlighted above and place the cursor on one of the two OPEN ADJACENT POINTS of the “X” marked white stone or Group of “X” marked white stones. Click  and a black stone will appear which leaves that stone or Group of stones with only ONE OPEN ADJACENT POINT.
  2. Next it is the Puzzle’s turn which you make by placing the cursor on the other OPEN ADJACENT POINT and clicking which will make a white stone appear.
  3. The Puzzle now has two OPEN ADJACENT POINTS
  4. Continue playing by placing your cursor on one of these two OPEN ADJACENT POINTS and then click and again a black stone will appear leaving the Puzzle with only one OPEN ADJACENT POINT. You then place the cursor on the other OPEN ADJACENT POINT and click to make a white stone appear which again will give the Puzzle two OPEN ADJACENT POINTS.
  5. Repeat this process until you fill in the last OPEN ADJACENT POINT of the Group formed from the first “X” marked stone or Group of stones causing them to be SEIZED and removed from the board solving the Puzzle.  Be careful because the Group you are trying to SEIZE may escape by connecting to another stone or Group with too many OPEN ADJACENT POINTS to be SEIZED or they may even SEIZE your stones if you’re not cautious.

Hints

Fortunately, the correct solution is hidden to the right of each Puzzle. To access it, place your cursor on the vertical line on the right side of the Puzzle and drag it to the left. A pop-up arrow at the bottom left of the solution allows you to scroll up and down to find the correct move. Use this only if you are really stuck.

If you get stuck, you can return to a prior position by clicking the

highlighted < reverse icon in the toolbar and try a different variation.

THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE IS TO ENJOY!

Examples of OPEN ADJACENT POINTS and Groups are on the next page.
